If you are wanting to catch a few beers or a bottle of wine and/or Knysna oysters while enjoying the view of the Knysna lagoon on the watersedge, then you should join the locals at their favourite pub – The Oyster Catcher.
Ideally located next to the waterfront and boat moorings, this local gem can be enjoyed by all and has indoor and outdoor seating facilities. A live band is entertainment on weekends and claim a loyal following on a Saturday and Sunday alike. Otherwise the Oyster Catcher house a big screen TV for sport fans and the music they play on week nights blends into the backround, so will not distract your evening. Only on the weekends is the music volume maximised.
The Oyster Catchers food is not the greatest in the Knysna, but they do make a killer Nachos, fried Fish & potato wedges & of course oysters, which is a winner anywhere in Knysna, although the Oyster Catcher’s oysters are not the biggest & bravest so maybe order an extra few to tantalize your tastebuds.
The “Catcher”, as the locals call their favourite pub, is an attraction on it’s own with glorious views, especially on a warm afternoon or at sunset time. Dog and children-friendly, the Catcher has their very own tripod stray cat that pops in to say hello every evening and greets everybody.
The locals adore their Oyster Catcher and so do I for a great vibe and a few beers to end a week or begin a weekend – everytime.
