Two thumbs seems hardly a fair reflection for the excellent food and service received at Fat Susi’s Coffe Place and Bistor, hence the 10 thumbs.
When last did you go to an establishment absolutely dieing for a specific dish and not found it on the menu? Happens a lot hu?
When I went to Fat Susi’s and saw that they didn’t have what I was craving. I notified them and they were willing to make the dish I wanted. After listing some of the main ingratiates the waitress whipped off and returned 20 odd minutes later with the dish I requested. What’s more, it was fabulously delicious!
Wouldn’t it be nice to get that sort of service more often from your favorite establishments?

Things have slipped a bit at Fat Susi’s. To start off with the service is bad. The staff are unsupervised and spend most of the time nattering in the kitchen. My croissant was microwaved, limp and greasy and the coffee is sometimes good and someimes bad.
Not what it was.
Fat Susi’s has now new owners! The service has been stepped up and is really great and the menu is undergoing a great re-vamp. It is once again becoming the cosyist place to have a meal or a coffee in Knysna.
It is so great to sit under the big oak trees in the outside seating and watch the bustle of Knysna go by. What an atmosphere!!!
Think you should try fat susi’s again.
The place is under new management/owners and there are fresh roses on the table everyday.
The staff are kept on their toes by the new owners, one of whom is there most of the time.
………….. and the coffee, well it’s only one of three places I’d drink a cup of good coffee at in Knysna.
They have a ladies only night on Wednesdays – somewhere us girls can hang out in peace!
